Codecs have been a problem for most users at one time or another. This is because there has never been an 'out of the box' working solution that the average computer user could install and just have everything work properly from the beginning. There are several decent codec package solutions out there, but none of them did everything I wanted. Windows Media Player allow you to create plugins that can do various tasks for you. The Now Playing plugin monitors the song you are listening to and publishes the data in various ways:
Creates a XML file with information on that song. A file called now_playing.xml is created in your Windows Media Player Plugins directory.

Events logs changes to the program and the Reports tab keeps a history of threats. Both are exportable.

The Local Protection and Administration navigation options reveal the Scanner, Guard, Quarantine, and Scheduler features. Combined with the Configuration button located at the top of the central pane, users can customize their scans as necessary. Quarantined file information is on display, with options to scan it again, restore, delete, and e-mail the file to Avira. The rebuilt heuristic engine retains the same choices from the previous version's, and can be turned on or off in part or in full and offers three intensity levels. The scheduler offers much that other free antivirus programs don't, and the help features are excellent, with mouse-over information on each feature.

Savvy users will notice the removal of the on-demand e-mail scan, and AntiVir is still challenging to fully uninstall. Despite these hang-ups and the nag screen that follows definition file updates, AntiVir offers such effective protection and a well-rounded set of features that as long as the updates keep coming, it'll be our first line of defense.

A seemingly nice application this one has better chances to succeed but not that convenient in terms of its organization. After the installation is over AVS Audio Editor can be automatically launched on your desktop.

We did not really like the main window organization since too many buttons are located on it and even half of the window is covered with the list of effects that can be installed leaving another half of the window for the audio file viewing. Surely all the traditional effects like normalizing, reverberation, echo, or fade in/out are featured in the software. At the same time most of those effects could have been easily moved to the main menu and some buttons could have been easily skipped to free the way for other more urgent ones. As a result the magical software is greatly harmed by a designer with strange ideas in mind.

Activation failed, now what?
Try again with the older loader option enabled, maybe that might just work for you.

Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chorme போன்ற இணைய உலவிகளில் உலவும் பொழுது தமிழில் (Transliteration) முறையில் தட்டச்சு செய்ய கூகிள் இன் எளிய புக்மார்க்லெட்.

மேலே உள்ள சுட்டியை வலது கிளிக் செய்து "Add to Favorites" கிளிக் செய்யுங்கள்.

அடுத்து வரும் செக்யூரிட்டி டயலாக் பாக்ஸில் Yes என்பதை கிளிக் செய்யுங்கள்.

இந்த Bookmarklet ஐ Links என்ற ஃ போல்டரில் உருவாக்கிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்.

அவ்வளவுதான் இனி உங்கள் IE உலவியில் கீழே உள்ளவாறு bookmarklet தோன்றும், வலைப் பக்கங்களில் தேவையான டெக்ஸ்ட் பாக்ஸில் கர்சரை வைத்துக் கொண்டு (உதாரணமாக பின்னூட்டம்) இந்த Bookmarklet ஐ ஒருமுறை கிளிக் செய்தால் போதுமானது எளிதாக தமிழில் தட்டச்சு செய்யலாம்.

நாம் அடிக்கடி உபயோகிக்கும் ப்ரோகிராம்களை ஸ்டார்ட் மெனுவில் கொண்டு வர Pin to Start Menu என்ற வசதி வலது கிளிக் Context menu வில் உள்ளது. ஆனால் நாம் அடிக்கடி உபயோகிக்கும் ஃபோல்டர்களை விண்டோஸ் XP மற்றும் விஸ்டாவில் ஸ்டார்ட் மெனுவில் கொண்டுவர என்ன செய்யலாம்.

Search Box இல் Regedit என டைப் செய்து ரிஜிஸ்டரி எடிட்டரை திறந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். அதில் இடது புற பேனில்

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\

என்ற பகுதிக்குச் சென்று {a2a9545d-a0c2-42b4-9708-a0b2badd77c8} என்ற கீயை உருவாக்குங்கள், அதற்கு வேல்யு எதுவும் கொடுக்க வேண்டியதில்லை.

அவ்வளவுதான். இனி உங்களுக்கு தேவைப்படும் ஃபோல்டரை Shift Key ஐ அழுத்தியபடி, வலது கிளிக் செய்து Pin to Start Menu என்பதை கிளிக் செய்தால், அது உங்கள் ஸ்டார்ட் மெனுவில் வந்து விடும்.

இந்த வசதி தேவியில்லை எனில், அந்த கீயை டெலிட் செய்தால் போதுமானது.

நீங்கள் விரும்பும் படங்களை கொண்டு, உங்களது வலைப்பக்கத்தில் உபயோகிப்பதற்கான ஃப்ளாஷ் கோப்புகளை எப்படி உருவாக்குவது என யோசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்களா? அப்படியானால் இந்தப் பணிக்கான ஒரு மென்பொருள் Photo Flash Maker. (தரவிறக்கச் சுட்டி இறுதியில் தரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நீங்கள் விரும்பும் தீமை தேர்வு செய்து கொண்டு, PUBLISH டேபில் நீங்கள் உருவாக்கிய ஃப்ளாஷ் கோப்பிற்கான SWF மற்றும் HTML கோப்பு வகைக்கான பெயரை கொடுத்து Publish Now என்ற பொத்தானை அழுத்தவும்.

இணையத்தில் பதிவேற்றி பகிர்வதற்கான வசதியும் தரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இதில் பலவிதமான Screen Capture மற்றும் Image Editing வசதி தரப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த மென்பொருளுக்கு இன்ஸ்டாலேஷன் தேவையில்லை என்பதால் நமது பென் ட்ரைவில் எடுத்துச் செல்லலாம். தரவிறக்கச் சுட்டி இறுதியில் தரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இவற்றில் Window Control வசதியில், ஒரு திரையில் கொள்ளாத விவரங்களை (ஒரு பக்கத்திற்கு மேலான வேர்டு டாக்குமென்ட், வலைப்பக்கம்) பிரதி எடுக்கலாம், மேலும் Region, Freehand போன்ற வசதிகள் மிகவும் பயனுள்ளவை.

இப்படி எடுக்கப்படும் பிரதிகளை கிளிப் போர்டுக்கோ, PicPick editor க்கோ அல்லது தனி கோப்பாகவோ சேமிக்க முடியும்.

மேலும் இதில் உள்ள கலர் பிக்கர் எனும் வசதியை உபயோகித்து திரையில் உள்ள நமக்கு தேவையான நிறத்தை எடுத்து தேவையான படங்களுக்கு பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ளலாம். இதில் உள்ள வொயிட் போர்டு வசதியில் உங்கள் திரையை ஒரு வரை பலகையாக்கி தேவையானதை வரைந்து கொள்ளலாம் (பவர்பாயின்ட் பிரசண்டேஷனுக்கு).

இதில் உள்ள க்ராஸ் ஹேர் எனும் வசதி வலை வடிவமைப்பவர்களுக்கு மிகவும் உபயோகமானதாகும், இதன் மூலம் திரையில் குறிப்பிட்ட co-ordinate களை கண்டறிய, ஒரு பகுதியின் சரியான பிக்சல் அளவுகள் தெரிந்து கொள்ளலாம்.

விண்டோஸ் ஏழில் பயனர் கணக்கு

இதுவரை விண்டோஸ் எக்ஸ்பி உபயோகித்துக் கொண்டிருந்துவிட்டு, புதிதாக விண்டோஸ் ஏழு உபயோகிக்க ஆரம்பித்திருப்பவர்களுக்கு, இதில் புதிதாக பயனர் கணக்கை எருவாக்குவது எப்படி என்ற சிறு குழப்பம் உண்டாவது இயற்கை. அவர்களுக்கான பதிவு இது.

விண்டோஸ் ஏழில் புதிய பயனர் கணக்கை துவங்க, Control Panel ஐ திறந்து கொண்டு,
User Accounts and Family Safety என்ற லிங்கில் கிளிக் செய்து Add or remove user account செல்லவும்.

இதில் கீழே உள்ள Create a New Account லிங்க்கை கிளிக் செய்து, பின் திறக்கும் டயலாக் பாக்ஸில் விரும்பும் பயனர் பெயரை கொடுக்கவும். உங்களைத் தவிர வேறு எவருக்கேனும் கணக்கு உருவாக்குவதாக இருந்தால், இங்கு Account Type என்பதில் Standard User என்பதை தேர்வு செய்வது நல்லது. இப்படி Standard User வகையில் உருவாக்கப்படும் பயனர் கணினியில் உள்ள System Settings ஐ மாற்றவோ, மற்ற பயனர்களின் முக்கியமான கோப்புகளை நீக்கவோ, Security settings ஐ மாற்றவோ இயலாது.

எனவே Standard User ஐ தேர்வு செய்து Create Account பொத்தானை அழுத்தவும். பிறகு கணினியை ரீ ஸ்டார்ட் செய்தால் புதிய பயனர் பெயரை காண்பிக்கும், தேவைப்பட்டால் இதே முறையில் சென்று Change Account இல் கடவு சொல் கொடுக்கலாம்.
இது போன்ற Standard User வகை பயனர் system settings ஐ மாற்ற முயற்சிக்கும் பொழுது Administrator கடவுச் சொல்லை கேட்கும்.

ஒரு Administrator ஆக நீங்கள் கணினியில் புதிதாக ஒரு மென் பொருளை நிறுவும்பொழுது , அந்த மென்பொருளை மற்ற பயனர்கள் உபயோகிப்பதற்கான அனுமதியை தரவேண்டும் என்பது ஒரு நல்ல விஷயம்.

விண்டோஸ் விஸ்டாவில் நாம் வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கும் பொழுது, டாஸ்க் பாரில் இடையிடையே “Check your computer security” அல்லது “Check your Firewall status” போன்ற செக்யூரிட்டி சென்டர் பாப்அப் அறிவிப்புகள் வரும். இந்த அறிவிப்புகள் சில சமயங்களில் எரிச்சலூட்டுவதாக சிலருக்கு தோன்றலாம்.

இந்த செக்யூரிட்டி சென்டர் பாப்அப் நோட்டிபிகேஷன்களை நீக்க என்ன செய்வது எனப் பார்க்கலாம்.

டாஸ்க்பாரில் வலதுபுறமுள்ள சிவப்பு கேடயம் படமுள்ள ஐகானை வலது கிளிக் செய்து வரும் மெனுவில் Open Security Center என்பதை கிளிக் செய்யவும். (ஸ்டார்ட் மெனுவில் சென்றும் செக்யூரிட்டி சென்டர் ஐ திறக்கலாம்)

இனி திறக்கும் விண்டோவில் இடது பேனில் “Change the way Security Center alerts me” என்ற லிங்க்கை கிளிக் செய்யவும்.

இப்பொழுது திறக்கும் டயலாக் பாக்ஸில் உள்ள மூன்று தேர்வுகள் தரப்பட்டுள்ளன, இதில் இறுதியாக உள்ளதை தேர்வு செய்யவும்.
